Something I fished out of my brain....been weaving for a long time now.
He woke up with a start. The headache was terrible. He got up and looked around his unkempt room. Everything was in place. He looked at the time. It had been 16 hours. He wondered what could possibly have gone wrong. It was 6 in the evening. Somehow he managed to stand up, and like someone under deep sedation, limped towards the bathroom. Something seemed different even though he could not locate what it was.
He checked the bottle again to make sure. Everything seemed right.
He washed his face, and as he proceeded to look at himself in the mirror, a faint smile appeared on his face. It had been done. For he could not see himself in the reflection. He was satisfied.
He went back to the room to see himself lying on the bed, cold. The poison had worked.

aah, i never saw myself as this guy.
Tho i know exactly how he must have felt. This is not masochism, this is suicide - no room for pleasure. This guy ate (drank?) poison and slept. He doesn't know what happened. A masochist would probably have stabbed himself. He's probably afraid of both life and death, hence plans for a peaceful transition.
I'm not a goosebumps fan (i might change my decision once i get to know what goosebumps is!)
